What's New

27 November 2008

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I am so thankful for your support, especially in this past year, as I made the transition from Florida, finished my doctorate, and started the Neurovascular Institute.

I'm excited to tell you about the new work that is evolving with the three branches of the autonomic nervous system, and working the visceral autonomics to open up the brainstem for other tasks. Look for a neuroendocrine class sometime in 2009 that ties this information in with endocrine and HPA axis function.

We've taught Clinical Foundations from the new home-base of Neurovascular Institute, and it was quite interesting - grounded and authentic.

Our new language for the true nature of this work?

IT"S AUTHENTIC, NOT ALTERNATIVE!

The way I see it, that alternative to the authentic breath and flow of embodiment is - well, death.

See you out there, and happy holidays!

Cathy

ps. Candace S, I got your email about upcoming classes in the tristate (east coast) area. But you didn't leave a return email! Sadly, at this time I don't have a tristate sponsor... but I'm always open to new opportunities..  Thanks!

Is it still summer where you are? After a snowy Labor Day we are basking in warm sunshine out here - very unusual! But a welcome sunny fall.

Neurosensory Flow class is on schedule for October 16-19 here in Bozeman.

We've added a Clinical Foundations class here as well, on Friday November 7 and Saturday November 8. There are no prerequisites - professionals and laypeople alike are welcome to join us.

We're starting a new cycle of class activity in Madison, WI. Sensory Brain Development will be held at Therapeutic Resources in Middleton, WI on Sunday November 2. Read about the class here, or go ahead and register here

Upcoming clinic schedule:  October 6-10 in Palm Beach, October 27 - 30 in Middleton WI, November 10-14 in Palm Beach, December 2-5 in Jenison, MI, December 15-23 in Palm Beach. Interim weeks you'll find me at my own office in Bozeman.

ALSO:  Yes, I am still selling Comfort Cushions. NO, you will not find me at the old office phone number on the label (691 3234) - pity the poor guy who's got that number now!  Until the store is up on the Neurovascular Institute site, please email me or call me directly (561 252 0943) for cushion orders. Cost is $60 plus $10 shipping/handling. Thank you!

Have a wonderful fall, and I'll see you out there!

Cathy

27 August 2008

NEUROSENSORY FLOW CLASS is finally up on the schedule!  Look for this newly revised class in Bozeman, MT on Thursday Oct. 16 - Sunday October 19. We'll be in a convenient hotel location for out-of-state travelers. While we will continue to explore the "build a brain" pathway, we will be adding in new material on sensory and neuroendocrine function. Morning lectures and afternoon multiple-hands labs make for a fantastic learning-retreat. We'll be able to play with the cold laser as well.

As a reminder, Neurovascular FLow is the prerequisite. Check out the brochure here, register here, or email me for other specific information.

ALSO IN BOZEMAN.....  look for the two-day beginner class, Clinical Foundations, on Friday November 7 and Saturday November 8. This class introduces you to the touch of Profound Neutral and is packed with integrative techniques to enhance whatever your practice specialty may be. Check out the brochure here, register here, or email me for more information.

The new brochures will bear our new name: The Neurovascular Institute. The work we do, from Profound Neutral, takes its grown-up name of Neurovascular Integration. Soon the website will transform as well.

And now, back to work. I'm looking forward to seeing you in class!

Cathy

Thanks!!

10 August 2008

Oops. Where did the past two months just go?

Construction of the Neurovascular Institute has begun - in cyberspace. We will have  a "real" full-service website, and the beginning proofs look beautiful. Launch of the NVInstitute will bring focus back to the seminars.

One item of note:

YES, I will continue to produce and sell Comfort Cushions. Quite honestly, in the FL-MT move, I sold off my stock and was a bit uncertain about my ability to keep going. Foam, as you might know, is a petroleum product. In 2007 alone, my foam costs increased 50%. It was a bit scary to imagine what the 2008 increases would be.  However, thanks to uh, strategic facilitation by interested therapists, I made the call and decided to proceed.

Comfort Cushions:  $60 plus $9 s/h. Replacement covers are $25.
Until the new website with integrated webstore is up, please email me with your requests.

AND I have a new credit card processor - in the future I will need that three-digit CVI security number from the back of the card, as well as your billing address zip code. Charges will post to your bill as "Neurovascular Institute." THANK YOU!

First inklings of clinic schedule as we head into fall:
August 18 - Sept 5 in Bozeman, Sept 9-12 in Madison WI area, Sept. 22- 26 in Grand Rapids, MI, Sept. 29 - Oct. 3 in Bozeman. Rumor has it there might be an Essential Mouthwork class coming to Indianapolis on Sept. 13-16. Will keep you updated about that.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

18 June 2008.

DONE!

After an intense weekend of final exams and presentations, on Sunday June 8 I received my certificate of completion of the transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Boston University. Doctor Cathy is here!

THEN I felt the 19 months of exhaustion all at once!

It's been a slow re-orientation, coming back to the rest of the world in this new way.

Now I can get back to work. First up: getting the Neurovascular Institute website up and going... and then revising the workbooks and creating the class schedule for fall/winter 2008.

Clinic schedule for the rest of the summer:  June 30 - July 4 in Palm Beach; July 7 - 24 in Bozeman; July 28 - August 1 in Grand Rapids; August 4 - 8 in Bozeman; August 11-15 in Palm Beach.

I will be returning to the Madison, WI area in early/mid September, but will be in a location, to be announced later in the summer.

Thank you for your patience while I finished school. It's exciting to feel some energy for Sacred Spaces / Neurovascular Integration projects.

Have a great summer!

Cathy
